  • Area Content Manager Education Coordinator/Mental Health

    CAPNEMO is seeking an experienced and dedicated education leader to support the success of its Head Start program. This position is responsible for mentoring and supervising education staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education, and overseeing curriculum development, training, and classroom effectiveness. The role also includes monitoring compliance with federal and state standards, supporting services for children with disabilities and mental health needs, and building strong partnerships with community organizations.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in early childhood development, strong supervisory and mentoring skills, and the ability to collaborate with staff, families, and community partners. This position requires knowledge of curriculum design, classroom management, and federal Head Start standards, as well as the ability to obtain and maintain CLASS certification.

    Required Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University in Early Childhood Education or a BA in any field or coursework equivalent to a Major relating to ECE with experience teaching pre-school children, two years of related experience, and/or training preferred.

    Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening, provide proof of a yearly physical exam and TB test, and participate in all required training. Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. Must maintain a valid Class "F" driver's license, have reliable transportation, and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirements.

    CAPNEMO's Head Start Program announces an opening for a full-time Cook at our Jamison St. Head Start site.

    This is a full-time, year-round position.

    The cook is responsible for planning and organizing while purchasing, preparing, dating, labeling and storing foods in the assigned center. Being able to operate and manage the kitchen, and ensuring a proper flow of tasks assigned. Maintain proper sanitation and proper professionalism at all times. 

    A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Must have knowledge of acceptable food storage, food prep and food service practices. Must pass a background check, provide yearly physical exam/TB test, participate in regular trainings and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Early Head Start Teacher -Kirksville

    CAPNEMO announces an opening as an Early Head Start Teacher. This is a full-time/full-year position.

    The EHS Teacher has major responsibility for maintaining a classroom environment that is nurturing, consistent, stable, and supportive of establishing close relationships with the infants and toddlers in care and their parents. The EHS
    teacher develops appropriate plans and individualized learning experiences for infants and toddlers in care. S/he supervises classroom volunteers. Participates in parent/teacher conferences and home visits. Works to fully involve families in the program. Follows all Missouri Childcare Licensing Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards and meets all Head Start recording-keeping and recording requirements.

     A qualified applicant will have at a minimum a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in infant/toddler or an AA or better degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field). Experience preferred.

    The Substitute will assist classroom staff and cooperate in a supportive role, carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. To promote the health, nutrition and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare.
