  • Teacher's Aide- Seasonal Jamison

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces an opening for a seasonal teacher Aide at our Jamison Street site. This position will begin in late May and run through August 15, 2025

    The Teacher Aide assists in instructing children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include assisting with planning daily schedule and weekly plan, supporting the programs goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned)

    Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening 

    Monday-Friday 

    40 hours per week 

    Paid Holidays

  • Teacher's Aide

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Teacher Aide at our Jamison Street site starting in August.. This position is full-time, full year.

    The Teacher Aide assists in instructing children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include assisting with planning daily schedule and weekly plan, supporting the programs goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned).

    Education/experience must meet one of the following three requirements: 1) at minimum, a child development associate (CDA) credential, 2) enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree, or, 3) enrolled in a child development associate (CDA) credential program to be completed within 2 years of hire date.

    Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening, provide proof of a yearly physical exam and TB test, and participate in all required training. Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. Must maintain a valid Class "F" driver's license, have reliable transportation, and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirements.

  • Head Start Cook - Jamison

    CAPNEMO's Head Start Program will have a vacancy in May for a full-time Cook at our Jamison Head Start site.

    The cook is responsible for planning and organizing while purchasing, preparing, dating, labeling and storing foods in the assigned center. Being able to operate and manage the kitchen, and ensuring a proper flow of tasks assigned. Maintain proper sanitation and proper professionalism at all times. 

    A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Must have knowledge of acceptable food storage, food prep and food service practices. Must pass a background check, provide yearly physical exam/TB test, participate in regular trainings and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Head Start Teacher - Kahoka

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Lead Teacher at our Kahoka site. This is a fulltime, 9-month position.

    The Teacher instructs children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, daycare center, or other child development facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include planning daily schedule and weekly plan, supporting the program's goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, and volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned).

    Education/Experience: At least one of the following: 1) an associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education, 2) an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to an major relating to early childhood education (15 credit hours) with experience teaching preschool-age children; 3) a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children.

    Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening, provide proof of a yearly physical exam and TB test, and participate in all required training.   • Substitute Teacher

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program has openings for Substitute Teachers in Adair, Clark, Knox, Schuyler & Scotland counties.
    The Substitute will assist classroom staff and cooperate in a supportive role, carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. To promote the health, nutrition and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare.
    Qualifications: High School diploma, preschool classroom experience and good verbal and written communication skills. Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening
