This center houses our Prenatal Family Advocate who provides prenatal education services to ten expectant mothers.

The Kirksville Part Day Head Start Service Center opened in its current location at 915 W. Locust, Kirksville, MO in August of 1993. This center operates a morning session running from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon and an afternoon session that runs from 12:00 noon until 3:30 p.m. This center is open with children from September till May.
We are in a contractual agreement with Garry Ledford for $1000 per month.

The Kahoka Head Start Service Center opened in its current location of 157 E. Commercial Kahoka, MO 63445 in February of 1994. This center operates a single session that runs from 7:30 till 3:00. This location is shared with CAPNEMO Community Services Program.
Population: 2,191. Kahoka is the second largest town in our five county service area. The largest employers in Clark County includes; Clark County R-1 Schools, Clark County Nursing Home, Dadant Candles, Gregory Manufacturing and KFP Foundries. Several residents necessitate travel outside of the community for employment.
We are in a contractual agreement with McKee Enterprises for $674.00 per month.

The Wayland Head Start Center opened in its current location in August of 1999. This location was built for Head Start by Kahoka business man Neil McKee. This center was originally set up as a partnership with the Clark County Public Schools to operate an early childhood center. That partnership lasted for 3 years. At that point the Public School moved that classroom to the school. Head Start continues to provide services to 17 children and their families. The center operates a single session from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Wayland is small town with a population of 410. Wayland has very few opportunities for employment. Most families travel several miles for employment in larger towns.
CAPNEMO is in a contractual agreement with USDA Rural Development. Head Start pays a monthly use allowance of $218.00.

The Edina Head Start Center opened in its current location in August of 1993. This location was built for Head Start by Kirksville business man Vance Myers. This center was purchased by CAPNEMO Head Start on February 24, 1999. A loan was obtained from the USDA Rural Development that allowed Head Start to make this purchase. The center operates a full session from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Population: 1,014. The Edina community has several opportunities for employment including; The Knox County Residential Care Facility, Knox County Public School, two banks and several small businesses. Several residents necessitate travel outside of the community for employment.
CAPNEMO Head Start is in a contractual agreement with USDA Rural Development for a monthly payment of 712.00. This payment also includes the monthly payment for the Edina Center.

The Schuyler Head Start Center opened in its current location in August of 1994. On February 24, 1999 Head Start purchased the building from Vance Myers. The Schuyler center was originally a Rural Health Clinic operated by Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center (currently Northeast Regional). This center runs 2 single session classrooms (8:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. & 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) serving children from several areas in Schuyler County.
Population: 208. Outside of the local grain elevator and the newspaper this small town has very little local employment. Most residents travel outside the community for employment.

The Memphis Head Start Service Center opened in the current location at 238 N. Johnson, Memphis, MO 63555 in July of 2005. This center operates a Full Day/School Year with children running from 7:30 till 3:00, with core classes operating from 7:30-1:00. This center is open with children from September till May.
Population: 1,994. The Scotland County Memorial Hospital and the Scotland County Care Center are the two largest employers in this community. All States Manufacturing Company and the Pepsi Cola Company also employ several individuals.
The facility is owned and operated by CAPNEMO. One section of the building is occupied by Head Start program staff and the other section houses our Community Services program staff.
